The Hostel of National PG College is situated within the College Campus near to the Cricket Ground. It is a spacious structure, colonial in design, with 121 rooms to accommodate about 215 girls. The Hostel Complex encloses four large lawns with rose beds and pruned hedges.
It has a Common Room for recreation. Other than newspapers and magazines, it provides facilities for table tennis, chess and carom.It is equiped 24 hours internet facility.There is a separate T.V. room as well. Three meals (breakfast, lunch and dinner) are cooked and served by hostel employees in the Hostel Mess, which is a composite structure with kitchens, pantries and a dining hall. The residents run the Mess on a co-operative basis, supervising its menu, purchases, and accounts. There are several employees to look after the daily chores in the hostel. They include an office clerk, a mess manager, nine mess/room bearers, three cooks, two watchmen, two janitors, a gardener and a few others for kitchen and pantry work. In addition, there is a registered washerman, a dry cleaner and a newspaper vendor to provide services to the resident students. The Hostel office and the Warden’s residence are located in the southern corner of the hostel building. The Civil Hospital , situated nearby, provides 24 hour health care facilities for all resident students against a fee of Rs. 100/- Annual. A kiosk in front of the hostel serves milk, tea and snacks every weekday evening. No resident student is allowed to remain out of hostel after 11.00 P.M. without prior written permission of the Warden. |
